What they do
HM Car & Boat Detailing is a mobile, fully insured detailing company that works on cars, boats, and aircraft across two coastal markets: South Florida and the Hamptons. They come to the vehicle for paint correction, ceramic coatings, gelcoat restoration, teak work, and interiors. The catalog runs to 21 services across the three verticals, delivered in 21 towns, year-round in Florida and seasonally in New York.
Our role
We rebuilt the site end to end (architecture, design, content, accessibility, search, and deployment), replacing the old WordPress site with a hand-built one. Around five weeks of focused work in mid-2026.
The challenge
The WordPress site carried the usual weight: a heavy plugin stack, a dead online store still living in the web addresses, and page-builder markup that was slow and hard to make properly accessible. A detailing business photographs every job, so it produces a constant stream of images with no easy way to get them onto the site. And it needed real local reach across three service types and twenty-plus towns, without spinning up twenty near-identical pages that read as spam.
What we built
A hand-built site (no page builder) that feels expensive without shipping a heavy motion library: the polish is done in CSS. The standout piece is a gallery that maintains itself. Photos uploaded to a cloud bucket appear on the site within the hour, no developer in the loop, with descriptive filenames that double as alt text and tidy URLs. For reach, each service and each town gets its own genuinely distinct page rather than cookie-cutter filler. Lead and quote forms email the owner the inquiry and send the customer a confirmation, with bot protection in front. Every old WordPress address, including the dead store, points cleanly at the right new page, and the whole site is held to a real accessibility standard, checked automatically on desktop and mobile on every build.
